Fitz Maurice was born in Westchester, N.Y., and graduated cum laude from Rochester Institute of Technology with a BFA, rounding out her education at three other prestigious institutions. Her swirling, ｅxpression!istic canvases captivate and dazzle the eye with their thick impasto color. Somehow, her paintings appear to embody the very shimmering essence of a sun-speckled landscape. Maurice has had more than thirty shows and numerous awards including a grant from the Jackson Pollack-Lee Krasner Foundation.
