Timur Akhriev
Timur Akhriev studied painting and drawing from the 6th grade at the St. Petersburg Iagonson Art Middle and High School. At this school most of the instructors also teach at the Repin Academy of Fine Arts. Timur also received private tutoring from Nikita Fomin, son of Piotr Fomin, on nights and weekends.
After graduation, Timur immigrated to Chattanooga to live with his father, Daud Akhriev and stepmother Melissa Hefferlin, who are also Russian trained artists. In Chattanooga, Timur attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Fine Arts program where he won “Best in Show” in several exhibitions.
Timur Akhriev is a member of the Association for Visual Arts, and through this organization has leased his paintings to the City of Chattanooga, United Way, and Unum Provident Insurance Headquarters.
Though just 23, Akhriev has completed many commissions for private collectors, and participated in many group shows throughout the country.
